Both Michael and Sapphire have been friends for a long time up until Alicia moves to La because her father got a new job. Which left Michael heartbroken. But through the years eventually Michael gets over that heartbreak and becomes a teacher at a high school. While Sapphire went on to get married and also works with her husband doing with the largest clothing line in the industry.
