In this universe the meteorite that killed the dinosaur was carrying parasites. For some reason they only have sightings on one continent so far. The America's. Natives would know of these parasites but no explorer believed them. There were real native American mystical creatures in America this whole time. They were just humans who carried the parasites. Once the English would settle in America. They would tell tales of witches and put it in history. They were right. These "witches" were carriers of these parasites. Maybe other continent's might posses these parasites but no one will know.
