Koyuki Fujii, an enigmatic young lady has been accepted to be a student at the exclusive private Ouran Academy alongside with her close middle school friend, Haruhi Fujioka. The two eventually lived a peaceful life during their first few weeks at the academy. They unexpectedly met the school's host club and an unfortunate event happened. Because of this, they had no choice but to agree being a part of the host club to pay off their debt since they can't afford to pay for it even with a regular job. 

Upon getting used with the host club, Koyuki surprisingly developed a small crush on the club's Shadow King, Kyoya Ootori. Although she knows he wouldn't like her because she's a commoner. On the other hand, Kyoya has taken an interest on Koyuki's puzzling nature. He began finding ways to know more about her but as time went on, he didn't realize he started to get fond of the young lady. The two doesn't realize about their feelings for each other so they did nothing and thought their feelings was just a phase.
