{completed, onc2022 longlister} For two years, Ember has been putting Matthew Harrington's life before her own. She cared for him, cooked him food, and kept him company. Everything a sad, lonely old man could wish for.

Now he's dead.

Ember has no idea where to go now. It was his money and unlikely friendship that kept her going, and without him she suddenly feels worthless. That is until she finds out that Matthew will continue to keep a roof over her head by handing her Windchime Manor, a stunning, abandoned mansion sitting alone in the countryside.

Ember knows this is the change she was longing for.

Or... is it?

Strange noises. Hallucinations. As she begins to learn more about the mansion and herself, Em finds that Windchime Manor isn't as alive as it seems.
