Parents are always supposed to die before their children. Only when the child has built a life of their own, with their own family. Parents were supposed to die when they were old and grey, after watching their grandchildren grow up. To give guidance to their children to help raise kids of their own. They're meant to watch their child grow up into an amazing person that they raised.
That's how it should be.
But unfortunately, that wasn't always the case.
Anna Hanson (now Cullen) lost both her parents at 16 years old. Now she's being sent to live with her Guardians. Ones she has never even met before. A whole entire family she has never met, only ever heard of and even then, not that much about.
