Luz Noceda is a perfectly normal human with a normal family. She lives with her mom in the small town of Gravesfield, Conneticut.
But this story isn't about her.
It's about her older (adopted) brother, Hunter.
He is much less normal on account of his genetic mutations causing his ears to be pointed and his eyes magenta. But, he manages and lives his life as normal as he can. He leads a simple life of protecting his sister, and himself, from bullies, making it through school, and doing everything he can to fit in.
All of this is thrown to shambles when he and his sister fall though a portal into a mysterious world.
Together, they have to work at surviving this strange place.
Although, for Hunter, it doesn't seem quite as strange as it would to a normal kid.
What once was lost will soon be found.
Hunter Noceda always knew he was different than everybody else. And he knows next to nothing about where he came from before he was adopted as a baby. But one day, a small owl leads Hunter into another world of magic and fearsome creatures. There, he meets a witch and a little demon who take him into their whimsical house. Hunter can't help but feel like he belongs to the demon realm in some way. And under the guidance of his new eccentric guardian, the boy learns the art of witchcraft in hopes of finding his identity. But there also dark secrets about himself that Hunter may not be ready for. What will become of the teenage witch?
