Science Fiction
Suburbia is a science fiction fantasy novel about a young man named Joseph who has a chance encounter with an alien. Areus, as he announces himself, was bred in the bowls of another reality and is unhealthily infatuated with the human Joseph. Areus is a narcissistic, pessimistic, nihilistic, and overall shady individual who Joseph wants nothing to do with. Deep down however, Joseph knows that he is a deeply depressed and aimless B average college student who is going through the motions of life with no purpose and no resolve. As much as he hates Areus, he has to decide weather he will play his dirty and possibly dangerous games for humanities sake, or come to the conclusion that his boring and predictable life might have more meaning than he once thought. Suburbia has political, religious, and historical references as well as illusions to literature and pop culture. Suburbia is a coming of age story of a pressed young man who is swept off Earth and prematurely forced to battle his culturally and biologically conditioned fears and prejudices, because at the end of the day, none of us are ever prepared for life in Suburbia. Disclaimer~ I do not own the story cover, as I have not found an appropriate artist to commission. this was simply a quick google search result. For story purposes, it is well to note that Areus is thinner and has a more gaunt and haggard face. He has no redeeming physical qualities which make him look approachable or honorable in any way.

"They say polar opposites attract." Natalie White thinks that's complete nonsense. As the mayor's daughter and the undisputed queen bee of California High, she's spent her entire life getting exactly what she wants. Feared, admired, and never challenged, Natalie has no intention of changing who she is for anyone. If being the villain in someone else's story means getting ahead, then so be it. But everything changes when Xavier Russo arrives. A scholarship student from Italy with a dangerous reputation and a permanent scowl, Xavier couldn't care less about Natalie's status, wealth, or influence. Unlike everyone else, he's not intimidated by her-and he's certainly not interested in playing by her rules. Xavier came to California High for a fresh start, not to deal with a spoiled rich girl determined to make his life miserable. Yet the more Natalie pushes, the harder he pushes back, turning their rivalry into an all-out war. She refuses to back down. He refuses to be controlled. And when two people who hate each other this much collide, sparks are bound to fly. Told through alternating POVs, The Mean Girl and The Black Eye follows two stubborn enemies as they navigate rivalry, attraction, secrets, and the scars of their pasts. The question is: will they destroy each other, or discover that sometimes the person you can't stand is the one you can't stay away from? ⚠ Warning: Mature themes, strong language, graphic fight scenes, violence, PTSD, and emotional trauma.
