The story is about three teenagers among many who have ceased to be human and become something else, persecuted and frightening to "normal" people. 

Christina has to find a cure, hiding her identity in fear of death at the hands of her own father.
Kleo tries to survive and escape the city, where she is seen as a dangerous monster and attempts to capture her. 
Dima, having lost everything he ever loved, wants only revenge. 
The three of them have not only to survive, but also to build a new, safe world on the ruins of the old one.
