The west was never dead

Cass, a senior in high school lives through a wildfire that destroys her childhood home. Because of this and other family problems, her dad sends her to live with his brother in Central California. "The hicks" as Cass puts it. As Cass learns to adjust to living on a farm, she uncovers family secrets spanning generations and tries to learn who she is in the meantime. While she hates the central valley, "at least ill be able to date a cowboy" So, there might be a bright side.
