She didn't want the job. At all. But after it was offered, she didn't dare turn it down, for fear they'd demand her reasons and find out her secret. So now she shows up every day to a job she never wanted. And the worst part?

She's good at it.


Applying for jobs just to get interview experience, Vania finds herself with an unwanted job with the group she fears most--the city's Enforcers, a strict sect of the City Guard that focuses on rule enforcement by any means necessary. Where she's from, Enforcers are known to be cruel and quick to judgement and have seemingly limitless power to do whatever they want. Like the ones who killed her parents for a crime they didn't commit.
