Hundereds of years ago human Kings trespassed into Verity searching for power, riches or a kingdom to take control of. They found death. A war raged, so the King of Verity hid his land and people away from the humans so they could live in peace. Legend says there is a secret way into the wonderful world of magic. The King left a way in and out, so when the time was right, and men accepted them, they could unite. This is all just a story though. The bedtime story children hear when they can't sleep.
