A prequel to 'Pull' set in the world of Deep Darkness.
Humanity had just colonized the solar system. For years tensions ran high as we engaged in a secret war in the wake of an alien invasion. We thought we had pushed our invaders away. We thought we had won the war. When they came back everything was lost.
Elyse, a former soldier turned mercenary originally from Earth is just beginning to put her life back together when she takes a bodyguard job for a man named Slen. The job sounds like it is her golden ticket, sleep for the duration of a deep space voyage, protect Slen when he they arrive at their destination, return home and live happily ever after. With no home or family of her own she accepts the assignment and joins the crew of the Erebus. Everything seems to be going according to plan until her and many of the other passengers begin to wake up.
When she is captured by a war criminal and his group of terrorists they place a collar around her neck and give her two choices - - help them take control of the ship or die.
Elyse's journey will take her from the dark corridors of the Erebus to the start of a new colony called Shear as she struggles to survive against terrorists, aliens, and her own violent past.

The Way It Is
I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it! After being convicted of a murder she didnt commit alita is left stranded on the hostile world filled with carnivorous plants, ruthless criminals, hostile natives, and bloodthirsty monsters. She comes to realize the world isnt as unforgiving and cold as it seems. She's saved by a native who dislikes humans as much as the next guy but shes intent on sticking by his side in order to survive. The only issue being is the last thing he wants is a pathetic, weak human girl following him around. (Limited time only read!)
