It all starts in 2019.

The NHL announces that they will now allow women into the league, and the reaction is mixed. Some cheer on the league, but some criticize it, saying that women are too weak to play a sport alongside men.

Jiang Shen ignores the critics.

As the American-born child of Chinese immigrants, she has faced some bullying and discrimination, but she is confident that the Boston Bruins will welcome her as a member of the family.

She is right-the Bruins immediately treat her as one of them as soon as she signs her first contract. For the first time in her life, she feels at home. She feels welcome.

But what happens when the pandemic hits-and it's announced that the first case of the virus came from China?
