Living the life of a loner worked out well for Shimmer. She could slip in and out of wolf territories and eat abandoned elk carcasses, hunt down hares, and sleep comfortably in the twining branches of bushes. However, when a life threatening injury makes her unable to care for herself, she'll have to rely on three wolves to stay alive.
