"I won't fly again," Tommy said, quietly. "I promise."
That didn't satisfy Dream. "That's not enough, Tommy!" he said, voice raised in anger.
Tommy looked down, pushing away the flash of irritation blooming in his chest. "What will be?" he asked, voice small, almost afraid to even ask the question.
Silence infected the air as Dream pondered the question. Tommy's skin crawled as he tried to gauge any of Dream's thoughts, but the man had a mask for a reason and all Tommy could see was the smiley face, taunting him.
It felt like eternity before Dream seemed to make a consensus. "Your wings."
