Princess Astrea of Lyanndra feels an itching desperation to leave her abusive kingdom. And when an opportunity presents itself, she does precisely that. She takes a boat, intending to get as far away as she can from her father. Everything goes perfect, until her boat gets caught in a storm, and sinks. Astrea somehow survives, but finds herself taken prisoner in a supposed mythical kingdom, called Scyra. When she meets the Prince, she realizes that her Kingdom is in grave danger, from none other but her father, the King, and a small neighboring kingdoms' Prince. As more and more truths are revealed, will Astrea figure out a way to save her innocent kingdom from her father's wraith? Will she find a way to save her brother from her father's horrific expectations? And will she find not only a place of refuge in Scyra, but an ally as well?
Prince Rowan of Lyanndra despises his father for hurting his sister. And he despises himself, because he is the cause of his sister's pain. His sister's pain, that got so unbearable, she disappeared into the night without so much of a goodbye.
