Finding Love In a Thug

“NeVeah!” I shook my head as I continued my way running down the long spiral steps of the home we built together.
“Fuck you!” I went to the closet in the main hallway and grabbed my little suitcase that I keep packed and ready in case some shit like this ever happened. I knew this would come to be. Moms always said , “Baby, a woman’s intuition is a motherfucker. You better trust her.” I shook my head, thinking Why didn’t I listen? I heard him scrambling upstairs, most likely trying to come and stop me so I worked faster. I grabbed the suitcase along with my purse and car keys before storming out of this house for the last time, slamming the door on my way out. I unlocked the doors to my sky blue Chrysler, jumping in and starting it up immediately. “NeVeah baby! Baby don’t go, please! Baby!” He ran to the car banging on my windows. I rolled my eyes when in all reality I wanted to cry.
“Get the fuck away from my car!” I screamed at him, locking my car doors and waiting for him to move.
“Baby, I didn’t mean for that to happen! I love you!” In the past all he had to do was tell me that he loved me and it wouldn’t happen again and I would be back in his arms… not this time. I closed my eyes, shaking my head, trying to stop the tears that were threatening to fall. I refuse to cry in front of him. “Baby! I said I love you girl! I’m sorry alright?!” I opened my eyes before looking him in his, staring long and hard. I mouthed ‘go to hell’ before backing out of the drive way I had been calling mine for the past two years. He fell to the ground holding his foot, that just so happened to connect with my tires. ‘Oh well, god never did like ugly.”
