Darkness has been isolated from the other Attributes nearly since the dawn of time. The Attributes feared her misuse of power which she herself doesn't know exists. Her greatest memories are of those with her best friend Light, but they were separated long ago. The time Darkness has spent alone has her going crazy, thus greater restriction in her movement. She's only free now thanks to a disease that's going around affecting Attributes. Now she sets out to look for Light.
