This is a collection of short stories centered around soulmates. Each story has its own characters, with their own conflicts, romances, hopes, and dreams. Although these stories are in no way connected to each other, I'm hoping I can touch on a little bit of everyone's worlds--from heterosexual relationships to transgender people to non-binary gender identification and everything in between (bear with me, I will do my best to research these and if something is wrong let me know because I want to understand other people's worlds).

I can't exactly summarize a lot of short stories, but feel free to read these in whatever order you like.

Over the Wall: A Collection of Short Stories (NaNoWriMo 2014) by emmernemmer

This year for NaNoWriMo, I am writing a short story anthology. It will feature thirty or so short stories (my hope is to write one per day to fulfill my 1,667 per day word requirement) about varying things. Each morning, I will randomly select a number between one and thirty and I will look at the corresponding list of first lines I will have. I will take that line and write a short story using it and then the next day I will do the process over again (some stories might relate to each other, some might not). Anyway I will edit the story for that day and post it here. It may not be posted exactly on the corresponding day, but in the end there will be thirty short stories. P.S. Although these are somewhat edited they are still rough drafts so please treat them as such.

Ethan Nestor is stuck in this stupid tangled mess of "soulmates" he stopped believing awhile ago and just wanted to live his life in some peace. High school and love was going to be the death of the blue boy, he knew it. constantly avoiding a beating everyday but home wasn't better. After his father lost his half there are scars of the doodles which constantly remind him. it was his fault this his other half committed suicide. Now the broken father drowns his sorrows on whisky bottles and uses physical and mental abuse. He draws on himself sometimes to maybe find his so called "other half" Tyler Schied is becoming lost trying to find his soulmate. He is always drawing on himself to find who she is. This girl barely drew on her so which didn't help, Then he noticed faded Red lines which scared him badly. In his school, he's feared and is slowly starting to hate it and himself. His parents are never home and he's losing himself to the darkness. Doodling and self harm is a coping mechanism so he doesn't tip over the edge. The soulmate thing is also keeping him alive. but then he notices, Sinces he bi, it could be a boy? He has a headache just thinking about it. To find his soulmate and be whisked away from his life. He was a prince, yes, but he didn't like his life. Being controlled all the time, having his life already picked out for him, none of it. He would rather be poor than have servants constantly waiting at his beck and call. When a mysterious stranger arrives at his ball, will his dream come true? Soulmates are decided before you're born. Everyone's traits are carefully picked to match the other so they are perfect for each other. Tattoos appear on your body to match your soulmate's personality, favorite things, and important events every birthday you have. Will has 19, Nico has 18. When you meet the other, you get one final tattoo that represents the two of you together and when you learn their name, it appears under it. This is a soulmate Cinderella au. Only first few chapters will be the Cinderella part and then I'm going to write what happened after for the rest. By the way, I'm not nonbinary and am used to writing Nico as a boy so please correct me if I make a mistake with the pronouns or something isn't accurate.
