After a particularly terrible experience with her adoptive father and a few drinks, Winter Kim finds her much-needed escape from reality in her soon-to-be biology teacher. When the two meet again at the beginning of the school year, neither know what to make of the situation. But their conflict with each other is no match for the conflict Winter faces with her adoptive father, and the two soon find themselves developing a relationship that tests both of their willingness to let others in.

For entirely different reasons, they find themselves pushing each other away.

Until they realize that their reasons aren't so different at all.

This story is girlxgirl, teacherxstudent, and it deals with topics such as abuse, alcoholism, and suicide. It's my best work but it can be depressing at times & may be triggering to some.

Half of the Same Song || Winrina

28 parts Complete

Yu Jimin has always felt safer hiding behind lyrics - lines she scribbles in notebooks, meant for no one but herself. Kim Minjeong finds comfort in melodies, in humming softly to herself when words are too hard to say out loud. On a quiet campus filled with noise, they somehow find each other-in shared classes, sleepy cafés, and the spaces between songs. What starts as quiet company slowly blossoms into something warmer: late-night laughter, tentative trust, and a growing closeness neither of them saw coming. Through music, they begin to open up-piece by piece, note by note-until they realize the most beautiful songs are the ones you don't have to sing alone. Half of the Same Song is a soft, slow-burn story about healing, first love, and finding someone who feels like home - even before you know their whole story.
