Aspenpaw and Squirrelpaw begin to settle more into their homes, but as Aspenpaw's night travels become more and more devious, she begins to lose herself, and her clanmates begin saying that she's been doing things that she doesn't remember doing. Meanwhile, in MoonClan, Squirrelpaw's friend, Hawkpaw, becomes more and more distant, and Squirrelpaw's concern grows. In DuskClan, Mousepaw's brother, Thornpaw, awakes every night with a new scar. He refuses to tell her his secret-that he is also training in the dark forest with other Clan cats. But Mousepaw is determined to learn his secret.
