The Rise of Carolyne Magna
Carolyne Magna is just a young woman trying to live an ordinary life... while on the run from someone. Or something. And according to her crippling paranoid schizophrenia, what she and her loving aunt are running from... is wolves. These creatures haunt her nightmares and in her daydreams, chasing her, hunting her. She sees them everywhere, in everything. Her obsession, and her curse. Over the years, it's gotten hard for her to tell what's real and what's not. She's broken and afraid. She can hear a voice, too. It's faint, weak. Distant. But when she moves to the little Texas town of Roxlow, everything changes. She begins to question if what she's been seeing is really just a hallucination, or if it's all been real. Underneath the drugs and the medicine, if maybe the wolves were real. Which would explain so many things for her, and also make her question everything she believes. Who should she trust? Who should she love? This thing that is emerging inside of her is terrifying and thrilling at the same time, and she's ready to embrace it. She is ready to rise.
