"They say the captain goes down with the ship, so when the world ends, will God go down with it?" (FallOutBoy) For months the E Virus had raged; killing and re-animating thousands of individuals. After starting with a nineteen-year-old honors student, Emily Hawkins, the Virus spread throughout the world. For a while, everyone believed that the world would end. Borders of countries were shut down and curfews were enacted and, of course, there were cities that went "off the map", but life went on as normal. Until the day it didn't. One day, everything changed. The Virus suddenly became out of control; killing thousands all at the same time and creating what would be the beginning of the end. Those who survived were catapulted into a new, dangerous life that threatened to force people into primitive ways. Without a cure, without a reason, without safety, chaos erupts. Follow the lives of multiple survivors as they fight to make it through the new Earth; not only fighting and evading the "Virals"...but other humans themselves.

Ever thought surviving first period-and facing her best friend's boyfriend, whom she recently kissed-would be the hardest part of her day. She was wrong. The world is ending. Literally. Between dodging awkward hallway interactions with her best friend's boyfriend and dodging the apocalypse, Ever discovers she may be the one person capable of saving mankind. No pressure, right? But just when she's barely wrapping her head around her destiny, a mysterious (and annoyingly handsome) stranger shows up. He drives her crazy, yet somehow feels...familiar. And he just might hold the key to unlocking Ever's forgotten past and to stopping the strange, earth-shattering events unraveling the future. As secrets unfold and loyalties are tested, Ever has to make a choice: walk away from the chaos and pretend the world isn't ending or embrace her destiny and risk everything to save it. After all, being a teenager is hard. Being the savior of humanity? That's a whole new level. *This is book one in a series
