For months the E Virus had raged; killing and re-animating thousands of individuals. After starting with a nineteen-year-old honors student, Emily Hawkins, the Virus spread throughout the world. For a while, everyone believed that the world would end. Borders of countries were shut down and curfews were enacted and, of course, there were cities that went "off the map", but life went on as normal.
Until the day it didn't.
One day, everything changed. The Virus suddenly became out of control; killing thousands all at the same time and creating what would be the beginning of the end. Those who survived were catapulted into a new, dangerous life that threatened to force people into primitive ways.
Without a cure, without a reason, without safety, chaos erupts.
Follow the lives of multiple survivors as they fight to make it through the new Earth; not only fighting and evading the "Virals"...but other humans themselves.

The Wildfire Virus. That's the illness the eggheads have called dubbed that has spread alarmingly fast all over the world. No could figure out at first how and where it came from or how even spread so quickly. I was on leave, visiting brother in Boston when the infection hit. Yesterday, the world was normal with its own conflicts. The next, millions get sick, hospitals are overwhelmed, and any sort of space was converted into a makeshift hospital to handle all the sick. On day 2 the sick died and awoke attacking the living. I tried to get out of the city, but the military closed off every major access point and now I'm trapped within, along with millions of undead. In a blink of an eye, the whole world can change. Evey had always lived a normal life. She was an emergency room nurse, had friends, and had a family that she loved. We all were hiding in random places, apparently any place we could find. There were a ton of zombies, the whole place was full of them. Many people from our group were lost to the virus. Muffled voices, blurred vision and heavy breathes were heard. The ship which everyone had longed for soon arrived. The plan was to run to the ship and never look back. The ferry was anchored at the harbor and on the signal, everyone ran for their precious lives, not daring to look back. Some people couldn't make it in 'The End' . The ones who survived were the last of us. Will the people make it in time? What hardships will they encounter along the way?
