The King of England will stop at nothing to prevent the fulfilment of a prophecy he receives whilst at war in Scotland. Even if that means committing genocide against the Celtic people.

Armed with the power of the Celtic Deities they have descended from, can the Scottish Clans fight back the King's advance... or will they succumb to his might?

The newly appointed Knight Commander of the King's Army, Firmin, leads the charge against the Scottish beasts.

Firmin is beginning to realise that the path to peace cannot be charted through war... but his King's bloodlust grows with the passing of every battle.

How can a Knight find happiness when he has sworn an oath to a King that will never be able to satiate his hunger for power?

In the ancient times of a distant world, there existed a clan steeped in a lineage of valor and protection, their very essence forged to safeguard the noble houses of the land. Born with innate abilities beyond mortal ken, they once stood as stalwart sentinels, defenders of royalty. But as the tides of fate turned, so too did the loyalties of this clan. Refusing the chains of servitude, they sought to carve their kingdom from the tapestry of destiny. Generations passed, & with each cycle, their once-potent powers waned, until the day came when their adversaries breached the gates of their stronghold, toppling their sovereigns from their thrones. The proud lineage was extinguished, its remnants scattered to the winds, as the shadow of a new reign loomed over the conquered land. In the ashes of his heritage, a lone figure emerged - a boy stripped of his birthright, a witness to the fall of his kin. Y/n, an heir of a fallen dynasty, harbored a burning desire to reclaim the lost glory of his lineage, to wrest his family's honor from the hands of traitors, & restore their rightful place. To achieve it, Y/n pledged his allegiance to Lord Farquaad, honing his skills as a master swordsman & serving as a faithful knight at the lord's side. Tasked with a mission deemed pivotal in his bid for redemption - to retrieve Princess Fiona for Farquaad - Y/n believed this to be his chance. Yet fate, in its erratic manner, had other designs. Love bloomed, & so too did peril, for hidden agendas & forgotten histories threatened to unravel their fragile alliance. Y/n found himself ensnared in a web of deceit, his loyalties tested, & his resolve shaken to its core. As wounds of the past were healed, & the specter of vengeance gave way to the promise of a brighter future. What fate awaits Y/n as he falls into the clutches of treachery? Will the Lastames rise & regain the power they let wane away? Read to find out!

Finn's father, Cumhal of Clan Baiscne, is assassinated on the night of his birth. Cumhal was lord captain of the famed Fianna of Erin, a much feared, mounted knighthood of woodsmen warriors who risked their lives to protect their island country's many miles of rugged coastline from marauders and invaders. The Captaincy of the Fianna is a blood right heritage passing from father to son and a position of enormous power in Erin, indeed, second only to the High King himself. Young Finn grows up continually hunted by his father's enemies, who seek his death to steal that heritage. He must find a way to overcome enormous trials, both mortal and immortal if ever he hopes to regain his father's ancestral seat. Will Finn unlock the mysterious secret of the famed Salmon of Knowledge and defeat the hundred-year-deceased spirit of a legendary sage of history who challenges him to a magical game of chess? Will he be able to solve the riddle of the Hag at the Well of Healing Waters? Most frightening of all, how will Finn overcome Aillean of the Flaming Breath, a creature spawned in the dark of the underworld that visits great evil upon the Land of Erin, claiming the lives of any who confront it? Only by victory over these and many other labors will young Finn grow to become the greatest of ancient Ireland's heroes, assuming at last the leadership to guide his countrymen in their noble quest for freedom. His tale is full of the whimsy of Faery, the guiding influences of the gods, and the deepest questions of honor, the code of manhood, courage and integrity.

I glare at him, yanking at the bonds. He laughs softly. "Oh princess, you're so delicate. Do not struggle, we wouldn't want you to break, would we?" He whispers. I snarl at him but he's right, I'm sick and weak at the moment and the cold rain isn't helping matters. I turn away, coughing and choking on blood, but swallow it quickly, not wanting anyone to know my state. He smirks slightly. "Why are you so cruel?" I ask curious at his behavior. In the Castle I was kept away from the outside world by my parents, who told me of the dangers that lurk in it. However the servants and the cooks, who lived outside the protective wall of the Castle, always seemed like good people. "Cruel," he scuffs. "I am not cruel. Your kind is. Sitting in your castle, while families starve, homes burned to the ground because the blasted taxes are too high to pay. Cruelty, my dear Princess, is a word you and your family are all too familiar with." His words felt like a slap in the face. He can not be speaking truth. The kingdom loves my parents and they would never allow their people to starve. #384 in Historical Fiction 3/27, #361 in Historical Fiction 3/28, #312 in Historical Fiction 3/30, #291 in Historical Fiction 4/8, #287 in Historical Fiction 4/9, #285 in Historical Fiction 4/10, #265 in Historical Fiction 4/24, #256 in Historical Fiction 5/7, #225 in Historical Fiction 5/13. #218 in Historical Fiction 5/15, #119 in Historical Fiction 5/17, #112 in Historical Fiction 5/26, #95 in Historical Fiction 5/27, #83 in Historical Fiction 5/31, #67 in Historical Fiction 6/1, #53 in Historical Fiction 6/15, #26 in Historical Fiction 6/23, #20 in Historical Fiction 6/25, #16 in Historical Fiction 6/26, #13 in Historical Fiction 7/2, #10 in Historical Fiction 7/8, #5 in Historical Fiction 7/10, #12 in Historical Fiction 9/2, #13 in Historical Fiction 9/4, #7 in Historical Fiction 9/5, #5 in Historical Fiction 9/6, #7 Historical Fiction 1/8
