Annalise, a sixteen-year-old girl struggles to find her place in life until she picks up her first job at a local thrift store. Wrinkled clothes and dusty shelves cloud her vision weekly as she faces complex problems such as college admissions, isolation, and growing up. She soon begins living a double life as a lonesome reader by day, and a popular writer at night thanks to her coworker Corey. Annalise begins to learn about sexuality, and feminism while being exposed to the LGBTQIA community at a slam poetry event and she soon realizes what she wants in life due to guidance from her coworker and English teacher. The question is, will those around her understand what she wants in life?

"God made everyone perfect, right? Then why is my existence a sin." Nick is a trans boy who is just trying to be himself. But sadly not everyone excepts him that way. A 16 years old loner girl paints a perfect picture of her life,never had a best friend or anyone to talk about her messed up life apart from her now gone sister gets to work on a school project and get very close with her group mates than she expected and she feels the need to get out of her comfort zone until she realizes that one of the reasons they got close was to know how she got wrist marks while she paints a perfect picture for her so that her peers to think she's okay and perfect but is she really okay? Is the image she's painting for everyone to see true? And what happens when life tries to kill and finds new realizations and truth about her own life Will she ever be able to face her fears and ever open up even after she finds out about why they got close to her? The Songs of The Gullible Wiseman: The Early Poems of Maddy Kobar 2008-2013
A young writer's newly released first collection of poems. Written during the tumultuous and at times troubling years of high school and the more forgiving and enlightening years of college, Maddy Kobar captures what it was like to have come of age in the last few years. These poems touch on personal levels with hope and hopelessness amid the most confusing years of one's life as well as some of the larger issues facing our society- such as women's rights, LGBTQ equality and the fragile state of the environment.
