At twenty one years old, Y/n Orlova's living memory only spanned the last seven years. All of them having been lived in the suffocating grips of one especially dark organisation; HYDRA. She'd become a slave to their hardening routines, truly believing that the rest of her life would mirror that of what she had lived so far. Never ending darkness.

But things changed with the colour red. When an Avenger is captured and Y/n is ordered to watch over them, all she can focus on is the red of her hair. It captivates her, warms her, and before she knows it a small light begins to shine where no light had shone before.

And so begins the tumultuous journey of such an unlikely pair.

Could this woman be the key to Y/n's future outside the grips of HYDRA? Or will she simply bring false hope and nothing more, surely drowning out whatever light Y/n had left?
