After meeting in a mental ward, two troubled teens, Luna and Archie, become best friends and support one another through the many trials of high school, including a group of bullies who threaten to reveal Luna's darkest and most scandalous secret. This secret would jeopardize her dream of escaping their small Iowan town and going to college on the east coast, her only hope for a better life. Meanwhile, Archie finds himself falling for his best friend and becomes increasingly dependent on Luna.
Their co-dependency and unchecked mental illnesses culminate in Archie initiating a game, a small challenge that incites a tug-of-war battle for control in this psychological thriller inspired by Gone Girl and Vertigo.

This story delves into co-dependent relationships and manipulative behavior, but also portrays a more realistic depiction of DID/OSDD than the exhausted Hollywood trope. Due to these themes and all traumas these entail, the story is labelled mature.
