Short story! Sasuke was tired seeing as it was midnight and harsh rain pelted against the window trying to force its way in... So why couldn't he fall asleep? well that's because of the days earlier events... how did it take him this long? How did it take him this long to realize he was in love with you?

It wasn't unusual for Naruto to wander the neighborhood at night. With the moon and stars as his company, he didn't ask for much more, but then he met a boy on the roof. A boy bathed in the moonlight with eyes like the night itself. Although Sasuke was a senior, it hardly mattered as they seemed to have something in common. Both were lonely. Both starved for love. I frown slightly, my usual casual smirk still intact but a bit distorted by the furrowing of my brows. I stare down at Sasuke, confused by his out-of-the-blue demand and the worried look clouding his normally cool obsidian eyes. He inhales deeply and continues. "Even if it's a lie, I'll believe it, just tell me that you'll never let me go." I feel tears well up in my dull cerulean eyes and bite my lip to keep them from spilling onto my cheeks. All I can do is nod and stutter, "O-Of course, I-" His lips crash into mine, and suddenly hot, wet tears are rolling down both of our faces. I smile into the kiss, and the shared fear of losing each other slowly dissipates, replaced by raw passion. A few minutes pass, and Sasuke breaks off the kiss, though reluctantly. I sniff and wipe my eyes. "I love you so much," I whisper, reaching up to tuck a strand of raven hair behind his ear. He beams at me, his charcoal eyes glistening in the sheer moonlight. "Because Sakura was reported to be knocked out in a red headed girls arms just this morning, they tried to catch up to her, but failed." Kakashi murmured, Naruto grabbed Sasuke's arms and pinned them to his sides. Everyone knew Sasuke was about to act irrationally. Sasuke was wordless, he didn't know what to do. His mind raced. They couldn't catch up to Karin? They couldn't save her? He knew there was something they weren't telling him. "What the fuck.... you told me she was safe in this damn village!" Sasuke yelled. He pulled against Naruto, trying to free himself. "You told me to trust you damn it!" "Naruto..." Kakashi murmured. "I'm sorry Sasuke..." He mumbled from behind him. The last thing Sasuke remembered was Naruto hitting the back of his neck. So I guess this is how Sakura felt... ------- Uchiha Burden is a spin off from Chidori Heart. Sakura cant stand all of the relationships that are happening while Sasuke is gone, but when Sasuke comes home, it triggers more events then any of them ever expected.
