The Thing

"This Thing...it- it-I- I see it in everything, everyone and everywhere. At first, I didn't even notice it. I don't remember the day it came, only that it wasn't there before." The young man shook uncontrollably, aware of the entity creeping in the corners of his eyes. Suddenly his demeanor changed and he stopped shaking, he looked at his hands and then up and the lady sitting across from him. She looked scared, but the man didn't say anything, didn't move, didn't even blink. He just looked at her with the ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
