"Captain, to port! There's something in the water!" various sailors rushed to the port side, pointing at something in the water just off the bow. The ship's captain, a young, well-built man, stepped quickly in that direction, wondering what had gotten his men so riled up. All air seemed to leave his lungs in a rush as he spotted the feminine figure floating lifelessly in the gentle waves. Her once white dress was now green with the tint of the sea grasses that clung to her legs, and her pale golden hair billowed out in a halo around her head. Her skin was nearly as pale as the dress, though a light flush on her cheeks gave hope that she might, somehow, still have signs of life within her.

"You're a what.?" He asked in disbelief. "I'm a mermaid. That's why I brought you here. To the place where I became one." I explained. "Avery, I don't believe you." He shook his head and started for the exit. A tear rolled down my cheek. After everything we've been through, he doesn't believe me.? "I can prove it.." I slowly turned to the water. He turned around and stared at me. "Then do it." He crossed his arms. I jumped into the water and felt the transformation happen. I rose to the surface to find him staring at me. He smiled at me and began to laugh. Read my story to find out what happens next.!
