Project Dekiru

When Izuku and Izumi were young they were excited to get their quirks and be heroes together. When their quirks never came in life started to get worse. Their parents didn't change all that much in the beginning besides getting more protective of them to the point where they treated them like glass. Their "friends" Katsuki and Katsumi started bullying them. When they came back with bruises their parents never question it, as if it was to be expected. Worthless and fragile, that's all they were ever seen as.
They so desperately wanted to be seen as anything other than their quirkless status that they devoted themselves to ensuring it. They learned and learned hoping people would notice their intelligence but no one ever did. All they cared about was quirks. Well if that's all people care about then that's what we'll get.
They spent the following years studying genetics and quirk science, all in the effort of making their own quirks. It was a lot of trial and effort. Many times they wanted to give up. Eventually, with a lot of hard work and effort, they succeeded.
But sadly they were not the same people they were when they began. One does not discover the impossible without... compromises.
