Sure, she felt something akin to a twinge of sympathy when she saw Wanda's haunted, puffy eyes each morning in the kitchen, but that was about the extent of it. When these feelings did prickle at her conscience, she shut them out forcefully and willed herself to remember what pain Wanda was capable of inflicing. Until, they graduated from college and was able to finally leave their nest. They both were able to get jobs in New York in which they decided to live there for a while. Then tragedy struck, Wanda has lost her other half in a motorcycle accident that broke her to pieces and left her extremely depressed. She had to go back to their home country for his funeral and to find a way to deal with her grief for a while. 3 months later, even when not fully healed, she decided to go back to New York on her own to try and move forward with her life.
