Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" I don't care if people can see the blood I just want to get out. I race for the doors and shove through people. I earn a lot of glares and glances that read "weirdo." I ignore and push. I run to my house and lock myself in my bathroom. I don't bother closing the front door cause I don't care if people come in to kill me. I grab my razor and cut deep cuts into my arm and wrists falling into a pool of my own blood. • • • Evangeline has a great life. Friends? Check! Good grades? Check! Loving family? Check! "I can't do this anymore; I just can't!" A line said in almost every individual's life. We all at one stage in our life dealt with such pain; where dying is easier then living. But, it's all a rollarcoaster that we have to fight through. I was once a shy, scared and sad little girl and now I'm a confident, compassionate and cheerful young lady. But, I wasn't always like this; at many stages I was extremely depressed. I know this seems like the stereotypical teenager's story but it was something much much more. Give my story a read and lets ride the rollarcoaster together. You never truly know what can impact you the most. It could be a book or even another person. Never close yourself off to be alone because you're shutting yourself from the beautiful world we live in together. Expect the unexpected and always reach for the stars. I hope you guys ride along and we can over come any scenario together as one.
