In Ketterdam, I made a name for myself, aiding Kaz and the Crows in all manner of criminal behaviour, forgetting that I was ever the younger sister of the Black Heretic. But I've lost everything I've ever known. I don't know where my mother or my dear friend Genya is - sometimes, this new life is unfamiliar and uncomfortable, especially within the tight, damp spaces of Ketterdam, this sprawling criminal town that seems so big and yet so small. A/N: It started as a Darkling x OC book. But I couldn't justify that for the second season. So, for the second season, it has become a Nikolai x OC book. (I blame Ben Barnes even though I had read the books and knew what was coming, it still started with the Darkling, but then Nikolai swaggered onto the screen, and it just had to change!) Season 1: The Darkling was quite happy to keep to himself, locking everybody out. But that was hard when a chatty hyper healer was determined to get his attention without even realising it. The one problem is that having the Darkling's attention brought a lot of unwanted attention in and of itself. Leigh just wanted to befriend everybody (well, not everybody; she would love to be more than friends with a particular shadow summoner.) Season 2: Horrified by what the Darkling has done, Leigh does the only thing she can: run. Taking all that she knows with her, Leigh makes it to the other side. Nikolai must sail south west to Kerch and meet with the merchant council on a new treaty, but the Shu Han have blockaded the main entrance so he must sail around. Fearing for his safety, Zoya goes with. The two of them stuck on a boat, the fear of death looming over both. But hey, what else is new? • • • I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS ALL RIGHTS GO TO LEIGH BARDUGO. As wonderful as KoS and RoW is, I love the idea of them falling in love on a ship. That's it, this is really just and excuse to write Zoyalai sailing fluff. Except for chapter 7. Please skip chapter 7 if you don't like *spicy*. (it doesn't affect the plot so don't worry.)
