But as quickly as he was born, the child was killed by another spirit.

As punishment, the "Spirit Butcher" was to follow the reincarnated soul of the slain infant, protecting them from all harm.

Spirits, supernatural creatures with immense power who were once considered gods, are now no different from any other living creature as humanity has learned to battle and use the Spirit's own power.

Despite being on opposite sides, the Spirits and Humans found a similar interest in one young man, who cannot be harmed, for anything that dares to try, is slaughtered by the Bucher Of Spirits.

Long ago, 4 gods ruled over humanity since their beginning, but after growing bored, they decided to play a game with humanity. Dividing their power into 52 cards that give humans a part of their power, the gods then disappeared leaving behind a prophecy that said one card wielder would rule over them. The rest of humanity then began hunting down the 52 card users with extreme violence, but since a card would randomly pass to another person in the world, they began imprisoning them. Years past, now in modern-day, a boy hurt and scared because of the hunt for the card wielders, blames the gods and so the Devil bestowed upon him their card.
