From the black edge of the street, a figure watched-motionless, rage coiling hot as steel. Engines roared. Jungkook vanished into rain and smoke, leaving Taehyung kneeling in blood and thunder. "I should have protected you," the words cracked apart, raw and desperate. "I should have-" He buried his face in his palm, a guttural sob tearing free. "I'm so damn sorry." Thunder rolled.
