Leslie Byers left the small town of Hawkins, Indiana for new York aged eighteen and wide eyed in 1983, under a special scholarship assigned to her under false pretence of deep secrecy all because, the straight A student now knew about the upside down.
When she comes back home two years later, nothing is the same, her kid brother has a bad feeling again, and she's starting to get the sense that doomsday is holding the door open with a grin and a scythe. But hey, at least her mum seems to be getting a boyfriend.
