A teenage girl, Brielle, lives in a town that is not ordinary; there's magic. To the rest of the world, it doesn't exist. She comes of age and undergoes the Choosing, like everyone in the town does. Its a test to put you into a Banner, a family that all shares a magic type. She can feel the unrest growing in the village from secrets that have been kept for centuries. Does Brielle have the strength to deviate from the path to go her own way despite the consequences?
