JayDee, pronounced J.D. (because her dad wanted a boy), is an anxiety ridden tomboy starting a new high school during a strange time in the country. She had high hopes of getting a great job, saving for a fast car, getting a semi-fast boyfriend and of learning some magic from her aunt Candi this freshman year. Instead, she is stuck squinting up at the dilapidating big dome on a former cow path that she will call school for the next four years. She misses the bigger city, all of her friends and the freedom to go where she wants. Her ability to get into trouble at will was always her friends' favorite part about her. But yet, there is an energy here that is almost palpable. Something awesome is about to happen here. She can feel it. She was born this way, able to feel things, sometimes even able to see things ahead of time. Her anxiety stalls her footsteps for a minute as people apologetically bump, push gently or go around her as they enter the building. She takes a deep, calming breath and lets the crowd's momentum guide her to the doors. She smirks to herself, anxiety replaced with mischief. Let's see how many people she can fool today with her impromptu persona...after all, first impressions are everything...
