With her mother dying of a mysterious illness and no known cure, Maria sets out into the haunted forest at the edge of her home to obtain a cure from the elusive evil witch in the woods. As dusk descends and Maria sneaks out, what could possibly go wrong?
-An enraged scream tore through the haunting quiet deep in the forest. Maria ran blindly through the dark woods, relying on the streams of moonlight puncturing the thick canopy and piercing the compacted fog to guide her. The mist blanketing the ground parted and swirled, disturbed by her escape, but swiftly reformed as though she was never there. She had never meant for this to happen, she had only wanted a cure, she had only wanted to save her mother.-

The adrenaline pumping through her veins held back the pains of the sharp cuts that the unmerciful wood grounds had tattooed on her bare feet. The branches danced along her fair flawless skin creating a pattern of it's own as it ripped through her plain white chemise which now spotted streaks of red and brown. The flimsy material, now drenched in sweat clung fiercely to her body like a second skin outlining every dip, every edge and every curve...... Her beating heart echoed through the silence in her head but she could still hear the growls of the beast that had been pursuing her relentlessly. She'd spent many years playing in this forest as a child. While Selene had enjoyed her novels in the warmth of the house, a blanket wrapped around her narrow shoulders, Sidra always came home covered in mud and scrapes from hours out in the wilderness.
