Well, I can't exactly say that, due to what happens to Ash.

Everything was going alright in Kalos. Ash, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie have been traveling for a few years, all of them aging slowly. 
Ash is currently 18, so is Serena, while Bonnie is 15 to 16, and Clemont is 22.
However, everything goes wrong on one unfaithful day, causing Kalos to slowly collapse.
While everyone is trying to recover from it, Serena is trying to the most.
