Mermaids that are the women who got thrown off the ship by the men who got terrified because having a woman on the boat is bad luck. As they sink to the bottom with their legs tied together they slowly begin to change until they can breathe, until they can use their tied legs to swim. So they drown sailors in revenge for their own drownings, luring them by singing to them in their husky voice that still stings from the salt water they breathed.
This is the tale of one unlucky girl who discovers the world of truth that lies beneath the water.
