In a life, you didn't choose. In a life you thought was fine until it wasn't. In a house, you thought felt safe, until it became your worst fear. People who first showed you love now show you burning hate. An eleven-year-old girl doesn't deserve this. No one does.

She survived though, but not without trauma and fear. Martyla survived the wonders of hell her parents created, will she be able to survive college, then? Shouldn't be hard getting a master's degree in law to help silenced children how she once was in court. . . .right?

Tyla Parker won't let anything or anyone stop her from her goal.

But Axel Griffins gets what he wants when he wants it.

The morning after he got flat-out wasted, Axel could barely see straight from the migraine banging through his head, but he had to get to practice or his head wouldn't be the only thing banging.

After practice, a curious girl walks into his Gran's dinner. He was unable to take his eyes off her, but when he did he'd wish he hadn't. Cause that's when he saw the scars and bruises scattered all over her body.
