No one knew what to do with the colt. He was unpredictable. Dangerous. A coursing speed rippled through him, but something menacing came with. He was a wounded sailer in a sea of yearning, and no one wanted to swim to save him.

She thought herself the same way. Different. A force to be reckoned with. A tornado- she came without warning and demolished without regard for whom she touched and whom she saved. But everyone else saw a damaged soul, a locked chest with a thrown away key.

Maybe that key was in the sea.

In the small college town of Greyheart, Meadow Marsden grew up under the weight of being the Sheriff's Daughter. That is until her Father died of a mysterious and very random heart attack. It's been a year since he died and Meadow is left picking up the pieces. She now wasn't just the town Sheriff's daughter whose Mother took off when she was only three, instead, she's the daughter of the late Sheriff and, technically, an orphan. Without her Dad, Meadow is coasting through the final semesters of college and trying to keep her mental capacity together. That is until she stumbles across an exquisite and exotic ring. It's not the design of the ring that makes it stand out the most, but the fact that it produces a beautiful neon blue hue and when worn, Meadow discovers she can see the dead. But not just any dead, it allows her to see the victims of similar fates as her Dad's. Mysterious heart attacks with little to no traces of heart-related issues prior. Of all the dead visitors the ring brings, Meadow quickly finds out that the ghosts are the last of her worries. Instead, her main and only concern is the person who claims the ring is his and he lost it. Hayze. The son of Hades, the God of the Underworld. Hayze claims the ring does more, it's a sentencing for souls, a talisman used to keep Hades's powers under control. Hades is away on vacation and has entrusted the ring to his only son. Meadow's only chance at seeing her Dad again and getting the truth about what happened to him is with that ring, but Hayze isn't leaving the world of the living without it. Even when the creatures seeking to take control of the ring appear. Meadow's in a fight for her life, the truth, and the acceptance that maybe everything she knew about herself isn't what she thought it was. With the odds against her, she can only lean on Hayze, but how do you trust a man known for the games he plays?

"Are you willing to risk everything?" He asked, leaning his face in closer until our foreheads touched and our lips were barely an inch apart. His blue eyes were so deep and dark today, but not in the menacing way, more so in a lustful longing. My heart was speeding so erratically in my chest that I was afraid that it might just pop right out. Say yes! My wolf cheered. She was waiting for this ever since we first found his smell. That alluring smell of security. Well my thoughts were really getting muddled. "I have nothing to lose," I stated bluntly while trying to distract my heart. And then abruptly he backed away, taking my breath away with him. I wasn't sure what to make of the situation. We both stood there standing speechless for a moment. I couldn't help but to feel a disgusted that he would act like he wanted me and then pull away so harshly. "You selfish son of a cunt," --- In her run for freedom and to find out who she is, Cora ends up entangled in the arms of Raphael, the relentless beast.
