The worst thing about lost love is that eventually you forget. You forget the exact colour of their eyes and what their voice sounds like when they laugh. You forget about the gestures they make most often or how they look when they focus. You forget the sound of their voice altogether and the colour of their hair and slowly slowly slowly, you forget everything but a name that can pierce your heart. It slowly ebbs in time, until the name and fuzzy memory is nothing more than a feeling, a dull hollow chasm where nothing remains, and it feels like there's a piece missing, a part of you that you can never receive back. Looking into those eyes again was like plunging into arctic cold water. Bilbo had to stop himself from making an audible gasp. He felt his mouth dry, and a dull ache surface as a deep voice spoke with a controlled and cold demeanor. "You must be the burglar."

In the heart of the cursed Mirkwood Forest, Legolas, the prince of the woodland realm, is haunted by an inexplicable feeling of being watched. Unbeknownst to him, his every move is shadowed by a female elf (I am not going to reveal the name), the enigmatic and fiercely skilled general of the Mirkwood army, who has vowed to protect her prince and her king - Thranduil. Legolas, however, remains unaware of her presence. Every midnight, she cloaks herself in secrecy and ventures out to meet him, masking her identity. Under the cover of darkness, she observes him carefully. Amidst the looming threats of darkness creeping into Mirkwood, the unlikely bond between Legolas and the general becomes both a source of strength and vulnerability. When news of the One Ring's existence and its devastating power reaches the woodland realm, Legolas, along with a fellowship of brave companions, embarks on a perilous quest to destroy the Ring and save Middle-earth from the clutches of darkness. In a tale of hidden identities, midnight meetings, and unspoken emotions, "Shadows of Mirkwood" explores the profound connection between two souls destined to protect their realm and, in the process, find solace in each other's arms. As they face the ultimate quest to destroy the Ring, their love becomes a beacon of hope in the face of overwhelming darkness. Will their love withstand the challenges of secrecy, duty, and the temptation of the Ring, or will the shadows that brought them together also tear them apart?
