The Whisper of Life, a story by TheOtherOre. 

Orcs have existed for millennia, most enjoying their lives on their origin island. Their history is vast and unfortunately, most of it hasn't been recorded. Turmoil and violence riddled the orc tribes for the longest time, until a great orc rose to unite them all. That orc is Ore Fa'aalnav.

Ore spent his entire life helping the orcs grow, get over their differences and create the first orc kingdom. Now, he holds the title and duties of the Great King of the Great Orc Kingdom. When one of the orc expeditions into the rest of the world returns with a peculiar book  about a certain type of magic, the king finds himself being reminded of how his people were created.

Follow Ore as he embarks on a magical journey to create life with magic. Do you think he'd be able to create a hunk of a man, or will his weird experiment fail?

The following story acts as an introduction for the fantasy world most of my stories are based on. I created my own lore around orc creation and existence, something that gets explored in this particular story as well. As David's eyes went from me, to Verity, filled with concern. David looked over my head at Verity while he was holding my hands in his. I heard the crowd gasp, before everyone started to whisper. David dropped my hands. The whispers increased in intensity. Making the room sound like it was full of hissing snakes. David's attention wasn't anywhere near me. I looked up to see him looking over my head at my brother. With a look I had thought he had saved just for me, my heart breaking as my fairy tale became a nightmare. Part 2 also complete July 2023.
