He was in a gang, he probably failed all his classes, so they had to send him to this preppy boarder school, in Chicago. He got a girl pregnant and ran away to not deal with IT. He's coming to kill someone, etc. This was news to him, but he liked that they all feared him, it was easier. Less to care about, less to get broken about. So he carries the bad boy attitude going into St. Quinn's Boarder School, but what happens when the quiet, good girl, tests him? When she sees behind that bad boy fixture he's put up for everyone. Family secrets? Romances no one knew? Not the quiet girl they think she is?
