"Ahem," I cleared my throat loudly. I walked in to find a couple on the couch of sin. There was a guy underneath a skinny blonde who was wearing only a skirt and her bra. The two had been engaged in an intense make out session and I just found another reason to burn that awful couch.
The girl on top scrambled and began to gather her things: blouse, shoes, and purse. She muttered something about being so embarrassed and so sorry about this. She wasn't sorry about it-- not in any sense. She was sorry she got caught.
I turned my gaze onto the guy as I stood in awe near the doorway. Somewhere in this process, the guy had managed to sit up completely on the sofa. He ran his thumb across his bottom lip and looked up at me. Giving me a two-finger salute and wave, he opened out his previously occupied mouth: "I'm your roommate for the year. Nice to meet you, Quinn."
I felt all the heat rise to my cheeks as I managed to breathe out two words:
