The first book of a trilogy, Nehimoa is based in a fantasy world where people are born with powers which can range from elemental to mystical. Princess Jaiyesimi of Nehimoa is betrothed to marry Princess Oviereya of Xewai. Jai doesn't want to marry her and wants to prove to her mom that she can rule by herself. She struggles with proving herself while kinda falling in love with her fiancée but there is political unrest bubbling from the rebel groups rebelling against the ban on the use of magick, excluding the royal family and carefully selected officials. So pair growing unrest from the citizens, a Princess with anxiety trying to prove herself and also find strength in herself, another Princess away from home (possibly running away from something), secrets within the palace with enemies right under their nose and an incredibly narcissistic and violent mother and you have 'The Princess' Guide to Love'.
