Ella never believed she was anything special.  Sure, she was the top of her class, but she wasn't pretty or funny and thought she was bad at anything that didn't have the word "school" in it.  And even though she had no confidence in ever having a boyfriend, she was a romantic, always wanting to find true love.  The only problem was, she pushed every guy away, unless they fit her definition of perfect, someone who would love her back, truly and wholeheartedly.

Jack was a childish troublemaker.  He never tried in his classes and didn't care about his future.  His day revolved around how he could break the rules, and how he could get away with it.  He didn't believe in true love, and he didn't want anything to do with it.
